Welcome to my Lesson Plans page!  Here you will find five lessons that I have written for different courses in the Lesley program.  Please click on the links to the right to find the written lesson plan.  Below are brief descriptions of each lesson.  Have fun!

 

 

Chinese New Year – This is a Social Studies lesson that opens a unit about Chinese New Year.  Inside you will also find many resources for additional lessons and activities for celebrating Chinese New Year in your classroom.   Book used: Ms. Frizzle’s Adventures Imperial China by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degan. 

Pirate Pete- This is a geography lesson that focuses on mapping the classroom and taking the children on a pirate adventure to find the lost treasure.  Book used: Pirate Pete by Kim Kennedy.

Down Comes the Rain- This is a science lesson focusing on weather.  The children will learn about rain and how to measure it.  Book used: Down Comes The Rain by Franklyn M. Branley.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs-  This is a science lesson that opens a unit on weather.  The class will share the story and then each student will create their own weather journal to be used throughout the month-long unit.  Book used:  Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett

Sequencing with Miss Spider- This is an ELA lesson using Miss Spider’s New Car.  The class shares the story, sequences using sentence strips and then students have a chance to create their own stories.  Book used: Miss Spider’s New Car by David Kirk
